Most of the Kids might notice this, but in case you didn’t, we already incorporated the usage of 100% cotton in terms of the fabric that we’re using on our tees. This gradual shift is our step to live out the premium quality that we’ve been aiming.
HISTORY: FABRICS THAT DBTK USED FROM 2012 TO NOW
YEAR 2012-2014
In the early years of DBTK, the fabric that we used were blank fabrics since it saved time as the shirts were already ready-made. Then, we shifted to cut and sew to have more freedom in color, custom sizing and materials used in making tees.
YEAR 2015-2019
This period was when we used CVC or Chief Value Cotton which is a combination of cotton and polyester. From Asian sizing, we also transitioned to using American sizing to suit new markets and to welcome the possibility of gaining recognition international.
YEAR 2019-PRESENT
We started incorporating the usage of 100% cotton fabrics when we produce some of our tees. The reason for this is most of the brands that we look-up to in Japan and US use 100% cotton fabrics. In addition, this type of fabric also suits the tropical weather that we have in our country, and to achieve the premium quality of our products.
There will still be instances when we’re going to use CVCs which will be stated in our product description whenever we use this fabric.
HOW TO TAKE CARE OF YOU 100% COTTON TEES
Just to tell you right off the bat, any material things in life are subject to degradation, however, these tips will help you protect the longevity and appearance of your tees.
- Never wash your 100% cotton tees with warm water.
- Only wash it with cold water or tap water. This will prevent the loss of dye and would only cause a small amount of shrinkage.
- Only use mild detergent.
- Wash dark colors separately.
- Hang dry naturally and turn the shirt inside out to prevent sun from fading the fabric.
PROS OF 100% COTTON
This type of fabric is a great option for hot weather since it is breathable. It is hypoallergenic and does not irritate skin. It does not create pilling (himulmol) over time.
