All of us have goals that we want to achieve. This could be an example of envisioning or seeing our goals in a bigger picture. However, this bigger picture consists of various aspects and elements before that picture comes to life.
First things first, we must consider these various aspects and elements as the tasks that we need to accomplish in order to get closer to our goal. If we’re talking metaphors, these aspects consist of lighting, subject of the photo, lens, composition and the like, before achieving the best picture. Always take in mind that it’s not possible to make a big leap to make that bigger picture come to life. One must break down the things that need to be done, or in layman’s terms, come up with a “step by step process”.
The best example for this is the bigger picture that Emil Kids and Vince Kids envisioned when they brought the brand DBTK to life. When they created DBTK, they wanted the brand to be known internationally/globally after 5-8 years. But before the bigger picture, they first established the brand and took into consideration the nitty gritty details of setting up a brand such as the target market, brand direction, quality of product and the like.
However, not everything will go according to plan and not everything will be smooth sailing. As of now, this vision of the founders for DBTK has not yet been met, but steppingstones have been established through the international and respected brands that the DBTK collaborated with and will be collaborating in the future. You can say that their ultimate goal is to slowly but surely come into fruition.
That’s the second thing that we need to consider. We may set up an action plan to achieve our goals, but there is also the possibility of facing hindrances and challenges along the way. Hence, some of our plans might not go according to what was originally intention.
With this, we must learn to adapt and be creative on how we should push through despite the challenges. We should always keep in mind that one main goal and remember why we started in the first place.
And, what’s more important above anything else is after setting our vision, we must take action. We must quit daydreaming and start “dream building” to make the bigger picture come to life. Take the first step and the rest will follow.
